Napa to Sonoma Half Marathon

My wife Ashley and I are training to run the Napa to Sonoma Half Marathon this summer with CCFA's Team Challenge program. We'll be meeting with our team every Saturday morning for training workouts and will be raising money along the way. Our goal is to support CCFA's mission of curing and preventing Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis and to improve the quality of life of children and adults affected by these diseases. Ashley and I specifically love to support Camp Oasis.

TEAM CHALLENGE
Team Challenge is the Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation’s endurance training and fundraising program. Through Team Challenge, you can run or walk 13.1 miles or train for a triathlon or cycling event while helping to find a cure for Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis, two chronic and often debilitating digestive diseases that impact 1.4 million Americans. To learn more about what programs are offered by your chapter, visit the Team Challenge website.

CAMP OASIS
CCFA Camp Oasis is a co-ed residential camp program that's mission is to enrich the lives of children with Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis by providing a safe and supportive camp community. Here in the Northwest, our kids go to Camp Coleman, a beautiful YMCA camp on the shores of the Puget Sound. Check out this video from a previous NW Camp Oasis.

As you can see, Camp Oasis is a vital program for kids who suffer from Crohn's or colitis. The money we raise through Team Challenge will not only support this amazing program, but much needed research and education services as well. You can help by visiting our Team NW donation page. Your support is appreciated.

ADVOCACY FOR PATIENTS
Advocacy for Patients with Chronic Illness was founded in March 2005, by attorney Jennifer C. Jaff. After more than 30 years of living with chronic illness, pushing past pain and fatigue, building a successful career as a trial lawyer, in 2002, Jennifer’s Crohn’s disease finally got the best of her, and she realized that it was becoming increasingly difficult to get out of the house in the morning and make it to courtrooms. She was determined to finish the major litigation she had on her plate, working from home and from hospital rooms until she could figure out what to do next.

Flight to Mars

Mike McCready here. As most of you know the 9th annual Flight to Mars benefit show is coming up next Friday (April 8th) at Seattle’s Showbox Market. Joining us on stage that night will be a special reunion of Lazy Susan, as well as special guests Buckets of Rain. You’ll want to get there early because I’m going to kick off the night with an acoustic set with my friend Brad Sinsel.

What you might not know is that we throw a rockin' VIP pre-party, in coordination with the Wishlist Foundation, where you can come in to the venue early and watch sound check. I’ll also be around to say hey and sign some autographs. There is always plenty of food and drink and it is always a great time. Good news is there are a few last minute VIP packages available for bidding over at: http://search.ebay.com/_W0QQsassZwishlistfoundation.

Both the show and the pre-party will benefit CCFA’s Camp Oasis and Advocacy for Patients, two organizations that are very important to me and my wife. If the VIP party isn’t an option, you can still buy general admission tickets here.

Check out this video made by Flight to Mars supporter Jason Leung.

If you can't make the show but would still like to support one of the charities, you can donate directly to our NW Team Challenge fundraising page or the Advocacy for Patients donation page.

As an added bonus, the show will be broadcast live on a special airing of the evening’s festivities on Sirius XM - Pearl Jam Radio, hosted by Ten Club Manager Tim Bierman and The Rob.

Here are videos from our two previous Royal Package Winners.
